Background and Worldview: In the Victorian-style steampunk city of “Gear Fortress,” the gears of the giant clock tower have stopped turning. Players must match bronze, iron, and gold gears to repair the transmission chain, making the clock tower ring again and awakening the sleeping machine inhabitants.
Core Gameplay: Match-3 puzzles where gears must be eliminated in a “tooth-to-tooth” pattern (i.e., gears with teeth in the same direction). Elimination generates steam energy, which can be used to power additional “wrench” items to change the gear’s orientation.
Features and Highlights: A robotic arm assists players; every 10 levels completed unlocks an opportunity to use an automatic matching robot.
Visuals and Sound Effects: Rusty brown and brass tones, rivets and pipes, steam particles. Industrial-style soundtrack with rhythmic mechanical sounds and the clicking of gears when eliminating them.
